I am RETIRING from public services (attunements are staying, cuz I know y'all will ask)! For the past almost 13 years, I have been in the beauty/wellness/spiritual “industry” as a client-facing and customer-facing practitioner. First, as a makeup artist. Then, I became a Licensed Esthetician…so on and so forth. And even before that, I have always been in the service industry with a background in childcare, retail, grocery, and restaurant/food service.
IT'S TIME FOR THE WAY I SERVE TO SHIFT.
My focuses going forward are:
My INVITE-ONLY private esthetics practice, opening fall 2026
A [redacted] [redacted] business, still in beauty AND client-facing, coming in 2027
My research on Black skin health. This includes esthetics-based case studies, which are facials and the like. I will still very much be laying hands and touching skin.;
Making my art-medicine,which includes my products, writings, videos, etc;
Teaching!!! Both practitioners (licensed and unlicensed) and personal/home hygiene education. This goes hand-in-hand with my art-medicine.;
And finally, other projects that I have in development. A few of them have been in the works for nearly a DECADE! I need to devote more of my resources to these so that they may be brought to fruition.
Several things informed this, but certainly the economic and environmental reality of present times. Since research is one major way in which I care for my people (through providing no-cost truly wholistic skin therapy + care), I did not see the point in (again) attempting to balance both esthetics research and having a public esthetics studio for the working class.
Now, as I travel for my research, I will occasionally offer an in-person divination spot or two. But that’s just on some cool shit really, and can even be a barter situation. This change is much needed. Things were feeling too much like taking from the poor and giving to the poorer.
My work is already a sizable investment for some people. Still, daily home care ultimately making the biggest difference in your quality of life, is more important to me than 1-1 services for the masses. With commerce, research, and teaching, my reach is more impactful and it ensures market longevity.
I have loved my time serving y'all in the ways that I was. It will always be an honor. It's time for new love!
